The Problem
Streaming platforms allow fans to listen to music but often lack meaningful ways for artists and listeners to interact live. Artists rely on external tools to host live performances, creating fragmented experiences for both creators and audiences.
The Solution
SoundCloud Live introduces integrated livestreaming tools that allow artists to host performances, listening sessions, and fan interactions directly within the app. Fans can discover events, engage in real time, and revisit live content after the event ends.

Key Design Highlights

Live Event Discovery
Fans can browse upcoming live performances, discover artists streaming in real time, and set reminders so they never miss an event.

Real-Time Fan Engagement
During live streams, listeners can interact with artists through chat, song requests, and tipping, creating a more immersive concert experience.

Replayable Live Content
Recorded performances are saved to a library where fans can revisit streams and artists can extend the reach of their live content.
From Insight to Impact
The concept introduces live streaming as a new layer within the SoundCloud ecosystem, allowing artists to host performances, Q&A sessions, and real-time interactions with listeners. Integrated discovery tools and event reminders help fans easily find upcoming streams while creating new opportunities for artists to engage their audience beyond traditional audio releases.
Live streaming introduces unique design challenges compared to traditional music platforms. The experience must balance event discovery, real-time interaction, and content playback without overwhelming users. This project reinforced how thoughtful interface design can support both creators and fans while maintaining the simplicity users expect from music platforms.
